iPhone 3G invisible shield?

I’ve been looking into the invisibleSHIELD for my new iPhone 3G. I really like how it prevents against scratches without adding extra bulk or covering up the Apple logo or chrome trim. But aside from scratches, would the shield prevent the phone against breakage if I dropped it? This is my only worry about the product…

Any help would be appreciated, especially if you own the product and have experience with this kind of situation.
