Marshall cab watts, Do they need to match?

I currently have a marshall 100w SL Plexi head and 1960ax cab (100w) running fine.
I want to know if I can run a 1960b cab (300w) as a full stack or would the watt difference be an issue. Combining different cab watts??

Also… Do I need to use jack to jack “speaker leads” to connect cabs to head? (not standard guitar leads) Iv heard diffrent opinions.

As long as your Ohm setting matches, you can use a 100w cab, along with a 300watt cab.
I believe it’s 8 ohms on your plexi head to use both speakers, make sure you’ve changed the ohm setting on your amp and cabs.

But really, running two cabinets does nothing but take up more space. It’s not really any louder. Not to mention that 1960b cab you have has 75 watt speakers, which just don’t sound great with the plexi. The 25 watt greenbacks you have in your 1960ax however are great, just stick with that cabinet.

And if you must have that awesome looking marshall full stack image, just don’t plug in your 1960b cab. Bands do that all the time

and YES you need to use SPEAKER CABLES to connect your head to the cabinet. Do not use guitar cables.
