A cable with both end HDMI , can be used for laptop to TV display?

My laptop have port to connect HDMI wire, and I have one decoder ( from my internet provider who gives TV/cable connection as well) also have port to connect HDMI wire. So can I connect both this using cable with both end HDMI then can I get laptop display on TV. Already my Decoder & TV are connected by using HDMI 20 pin.
