Could I hook up an ethernet cable to my computer from my X Box Live or the other way around?

Alright, I have a computer with an ethernet cable connecting the computer to the modem to make the internet work. I have an optional jack to plug another chord in. If I bought the chord, could I play my X Box 360 online? If not, what do I need, how do I get it, and the steps for it. Any answer is fantastic, please answer.

That all depends on the modem since many ISP’s are now providing modem/routers. If yours is also a router, then there shouldn’t be any reason it wouldn’t. If it is just a modem, your ISP should give you a walk through on what the extra jack is. Also, if it is not a router, then you would either need to have only one on at a time or you would need to get a router and plug both your computer and xbox into the router.
