I just came home for a visit from Japan where we’re stationed and it took 12 hours on a cargo plane to get here. It was survival-mode conditions to say the least. It’d be extremely hot for an hour, then switch to extreme cold for an hour, and forget flight attendants… we didn’t even have regular seats – it was the military jumper seats! Guess I can’t really complain since it was free, but I don’t know anyone that would PAY to get home that way. HAHA! It took longer to move to Japan because of a 12-hour lay-over in L.A., but we had an actual commercial jet and I’d take that any day over 12-hours in a cargo plane.
Did I mention the noise of the engine? IT’S DEAFENING!!! And that I had my baby girl with me?! I guess this has turned into “WHAT’S YOUR WORST TRAVELING EXPERIENCE?”. haha…

Six years ago I traveled from one side of Australia to the other (Melbourne to Perth) and then three weeks later back again. I am never going to do that EVER again!! It was awful, it took four days each way, I only had a regular seat, not a cabin, so I had to sleep on the floor which killed my back & neck, the food was terrible, they replayed the same two movies over and over and over, the heat was unbearable one way (I think the AC was broken), every time I left my seat, a kid from the row behind stole my walkman, and his parents did nothing to stop him and there is only so much desert you can look at before going totally insane! Next time, I’m getting a plane.
