modem with usb connection as power and connection to internet?

it works perfect when i connect it to my PC. But I want to make a network using a router that has only ethernet connections. How can I do that? Can I use cable usb-female-ethernet? will I get the power in this case from the router? Help please…thanks.

USB and Ethernet aren’t the same protocol. It’s not like you can plug a TV aerial into a phone-socket and listen to the TV on a telephone…

Assuming you’re talking about a broadband modem, your best bet is to buy a broadband router which has ethernet sockets on it, and use that instead of your broadband modem which can only connect one PC to the net. There are plenty of manufacturers out there that offer this sort of device – Belkin, D-Link, Linksys for example.
