Wireless network no longer works after a new modem was installed?
ISP says everything is correct up to the router. Wired computer is fine on the Internet when wired to the router or connected directly to the modem. Two other computers worked perfectly on the wireless network until the new modem was installed and the “Wizard” automatically came up to perform the connection. It seems very unlikely that both computers would fail at that exact moment and that it must be a router problem. The exchange of numerous emails with the manufacturer has resulted in nothing. Oddly, my home page will come up on the wireless computers, but then I can’t go to any other Internet address. If I try, I get an error message and the network indicates “Little or no connectivity”. Before trying to leave the home page it was “Connected and excellent power”.
Have you checked the wireless adapter setup in your laptop(s). It may be that the wireless adapter has it’s own setup that is conflicting with the Windows network setup.
My laptop uses an add adapter that uses it’s own setup program.
If your connection is DSL, did a new wireless router come with the modem. If so you have replaced both the router and modem and all of the wireless settings in the new router are at their default value and should be reset for you application.
Pay particular attention to the firewall settings.
