which is a better free antivirus between avast and avira?

though avira has a higher detection rate than avast, it lacks some features which avast have like web shield, network & p2p shield. So I am confused which antivirus to use. Please suggest.

Those are both good choices for free picks. I’m not that big of a believer in Web shield type protection. I just don’t care for the slow down it can cause. What difference does it make if malware is caught before it gets on your computer or is caught when it tries to install? As long as the malware is stopped that’s all that really matters. Some users feel better, if it’s stopped before it gets to them. I would rather have a program that catches more, than one that catches less. No matter where it’s stopped.
