Problems hooking up xbox to my surroudn sound?
Hey guys i baught this model

and followed the dobly diagram on how to set up the xbox to surround sound i have all the component cables

I plug in the multijack xbox cble thingy and i plug my dvd player with HDMI
i have 2 questions
when i put the cables in the diagram i hear sound but cannot see anything – why?
and is there any way to get surround sound using HDMI instead of having to use my wierd multi cables + optic
yeah how…. u cant have both optical input + HDMI…
Your system is a Home Theater in a box with amp built-in. You can’t get surround sound with HDMI connection ( no HDMI input ). You should connect HDMI from Xbox to TV for video and optical from Xbox to system for surround sound.
