How can you adapt a 15 pin plug to fit a USB port?

I have an old 1999 Logitech Wingman Joystick with the old 15 pin plug and i was wondering if i could somehow cut the wires and arrange them to fit a USB plug. Perhaps wire splicing or something. Could someone please give me some guidelines on which wires I should match up, etc. Thanks!

It’s an old 15 pin gameport. To use it with USB, It’s not nearly anywhere as simple as rewiring it. I mean check the pin-out on this port:

It’s not just the plug that’s different, the signal format itself is different. USB has one wire sending all the signals (serial) and gameport has a bunch of signal wires working in parallel. USB is also much much faster. You’ll need some IC to convert the parallel to serial, and then match USB specifications. Not worth the effort.
