Will using an HDMI wall plate cause loss of audio and video quality?

That is my only concern about using an hdmi wall plate with my home theater system.

Short answer: No

More detailed answer: As with any electrical connection (analog or digital) every extra length of cable or connection in the circuit has some effect on the signal. HDMI is digital, so it basically works or it doesn’t (although as cable length increases there is a point where the connection begins to fail, this is typically at lengths of 20 feet or more, and varies with data throughput requirements (a high bitrate HD signal will fail at a shorter distance than a low bitrate signal)). Putting an extra connection (such as a wall jack) in the circuit will very slightly decrease the signal, but is highly unlikely to make the difference between the connection working (perfectly) or not. As long as the a) the cable alone is able to work at the length you need, and b) the wall jack is properly installed, you won’t have a problem. See the link for more info.
