Can i connect 10 PCs in lan to 8 port switch along with internet?

i have 10 pcs and an 8 port switch. i want to connect then in lan along with cable internet. the vedor told me that i need not buy 2 switches as 1 is enough to connect all. but how ? i have no idea!
please advice. do i have to get a seperate hub or switch?

If you have just one internet account you need a router – 3 directly from the router + 7 from the switch = 10 pc’s
You can’t connect more than 7 pc’s to a 8 port switch – you need a port for the uplink.
